WISCONSIN — Kaboom Collective, renowned for its innovative approach to music education, proudly announces its latest endeavor in collaboration with students from the Howard-Suamico School District, Appleton Area Schools, and Green Bay Schools. Student musicians from orchestra programs at each of the districts comprise Kaboom Studio Orchestra Wisconsin. The culmination of months of preparation, this groundbreaking project brings together aspiring young musicians and industry professionals in a dynamic fusion of creativity and talent.
The project was conceived as a platform for students to explore their musical potential in a professional setting, explore new careers in the industry, and participate in the production of a live event. This Thursday, April 11th, at 7 pm, the Weidner Center in Green Bay will host a free public performance, showcasing the culmination of the students’ hard work and dedication.
Joining the students on stage will be acclaimed indie-folk band The Accidentals, adding an electrifying dimension to the performance. Throughout the week leading up to the event, students will participate in workshops and rehearsals alongside Kaboom Collective members, learning from music industry executives, audio technology experts, and celebrated music educators.
The music performed will feature compositions written by Sav Madigan of The Accidentals, expertly arranged by the Kaboom Composer + Arranger Team, made up of talented students aged 15-25. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Kaboom Collective’s national Sound Sessions program, which aims to foster creative expression and collaboration among young musicians across the country.
“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with The Accidentals while welcoming a cohort of talented student musicians from three new school districts,” said Liza Grossman Co-Founder and Creative Director at Kaboom Collective. “Kaboom’s mission to expand students’ creative universes transcends state boundaries and will only continue to grow.”
The project owes its success to the dedication of educators Renee Ulman, the fine arts coordinator at Appleton Area School District; Lucinda Roberts, Fine Arts Program Coordinator at Fine Arts Institute at East High; and Ashley Siegrist, Band Director at Bay Port High School. Audrey Nowak, Fine Arts Coordinator at Howard-Suamico School District, played a pivotal role in bringing the project to fruition.
Members of the public are invited to attend this one-of-a-kind performance, celebrating the talent and dedication of Wisconsin’s young musicians. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the magic of collaboration and creativity come to life on stage.
