PUBLISHED PRODUCTIONS
EDUCATIONAL VIDEO FEATURING WEST AFRICAN MUSIC
West African culture and music expert (and SNL-band percussionist) Valerie Naranjo worked with Kaboom students to arrange and record select songs from a unique repertoire. Each piece features global sound while employing the use of rare rhythmic instruments and technique. The learning process and recording sessions were documented and edited together to spread information and for public school teachers to use as an educational resource to teach African music in classrooms across the world.
AD MUSIC + SOUND
Studio Orchestra and Composer + Arranger Team students partner with national advertising agency Yessian to distill a creative brief into persuasive commercial music. Working with company executives as the client, Kaboom students wrote, arranged, performed, and recorded original music that was featured in a national brand’s multi-channel and multi-media advertising campaign.
STUDIO ALBUM
The Kaboom Composition Team and the Kaboom Studio Orchestra worked with Billboard-chart topping band The Accidentals to produce an album of new tunes. Thoughtful arrangements and textured playing join emotional lyrics and soulful performance to make these recordings some of the most favorite we’ve ever produced. The album was released in 2022.
VIDEO GAME SOUNDTRACK
The Kaboom Studio Orchestra partnered with composer Sean Beason and video game developer Digital Owl to develop and record the sound of a new video game Brave Snow being developed for major platforms. The Composer + Arranger team crafted the overture while the Studio Orchestra performed and recorded the track. The recording was published as a single and also used as a marketing tool for Digital Owl.
TOUR
Students embarked upon a 4-state, 8-venue, 12-day tour, performing tunes from their album with The Accidentals. Rocking an array of venues including outdoor amphitheaters, music festivals, and popular theaters the Studio Orchestra performed to sold out crowds while learning to navigate life on the road. Additionally, musicians acquired new skills like stage management, audio engineering, and merchandise sales as they bring the tour to life with their peers.
MUSIC VIDEO: CROW'S FEET
Kaboom Collective’s flagship music video stands as a testament to their collaborative spirit and creative vision. Crafted from footage captured during the Kaboom Studio Orchestra’s exhilarating tour across four states, the video offers a dynamic portrayal of their musical journey. Viewers are treated to glimpses of electrifying performances, behind-the-scenes camaraderie, and the vibrant energy of life on the road. Set to the captivating sounds of their studio track, the video not only showcases the undeniable talent of both the orchestra and the band but also captures the essence of their shared passion for music.
MUSIC VIDEO: MANGROVE
Kaboom Collective students created the music video for their 2nd single release, “Mangrove.” Collaborating closely with The Accidentals, students immersed themselves in the filming process on location. The video showcased the musical talent of the band and the Studio Orchestra, seamlessly blending both elements into a captivating visual experience. Throughout the production, students gained invaluable insights into the workings of professional shoots, learning firsthand about camera presence, staging, and more which enriched their understanding of the creative process and empowered them with practical skills essential for future endeavors in the world of music and media.
MUSIC VIDEO: LADY OF THE LAKE
“Lady of the Lake” is a captivating music video collaboration between Kaboom Collective and The Accidentals that goes beyond the ordinary. Set against the backdrop of enchanting melodies and powerful vocals, this mesmerizing visual journey showcases the talent and creativity of students who not only contributed to recording the track but also took center stage in the filming process.

DOWNTEMPO TRIPHOP ALBUM
Multi-Platinum producer Michael Bradford joins the Kaboom Studio Orchestra to perform and record a never-before-experienced mashup of electronic and traditional orchestral instruments. This Downtempo Triphop Album is a relaxing, atmospheric series of tracks that celebrates the dichotomy found between digital and analog sound. The texture and character created in the music is translated into an accompanying music video.
ANIMATED SHORT FILM
Kaboom students are producing an animated short with Emmy® award-winning composers, animators, and script writers. Julie Bernstein, Steven Bernstein, and Paul Rugg teach students how to write the script/story board, perform the voice-overs, score the music, create the animation, and so much more. We’ll submit the finished product to animation festivals and for award opportunities.
DOCUMENTARY FILM
What is life on the road like? Kaboom students share their experience with our documentary film making team as they embark upon a multi-state tour. Viewers get an up-close look as student musicians deliver powerhouse performances, develop new friendships, and overcome all the challenges that come with fast-paced music production.
IMPROV ALBUM
Kaboom is partnering with Mike Garson, David Bowie’s pianist, to create new music and record the orchestral tracks on an album.
Students follow the album through the composition of new charts, they lay down orchestral tracks, audit the engineering and mix process, and help take the product to market.
